I Hear Footsteps By Tyrone Woodward

I hear footsteps coming closer
I hear footsteps coming closer
Can it be my mind, doing it one more time?
It is my baby, or my sister Sadie?
Is it you Lord?
Coming closer
You see lately
I can't sleep at night
Just me and my needle
With my belt tied tight
And I hear footsteps
Coming closer I hear
My face filled with sweat
As I suck in my need
As I try not to think
Of the death and decide
That has brought me this thing
That keeps me alive
As I float on a cloud
In the heavenly sky
And I hear footsteps
Coming closer
I hear footsteps
Coming closer
Is it you Lord?
Coming closer
Is it my brother Fred?
That they shot in the head
Is it the man in the paper?
Pulling another caper
Is it a warning?
Coming early this morning
It is you Lord?
Coming closer
I hear footsteps
Coming closer
I hear footsteps
Coming closer
Coming closer
Coming closer
Coming closer

Don't Let Nobody Stop You By Tyrone Woodward

If you wanna be something, hey don't nobody stop you
If there's a will, hey there's got to be a way
So where ever you are, listen to every word I say
And if you wanna be something, hey don't let anybody stop you
I know there's people out there yah, trying hard to make it
And the people before them, hey just couldn't take it
But if you wanna be a doctor, lawyer, hey I know you can make it
I say there's people out there yah that don't want you to make it
And the problems they give you yah, you just gotta take it
Cause if you're not strong, they'll keep you down
They'll change your mind and steal you blind
They'll call you names, but don't pay it no mind
Cause if you wanna be something, hey
Don't let nobody stop you
I know times will get hard when you'll have to cry
But that desire inside don't let it die
Cause if you wanna be something
Got damn, don't let nobody stop you
Hey brother, don't let nobody stop you
Listen sister, don't let nobody stop you, hey, hey, hey, don't let nobody...

Can"t Stop Love By Tyrone Woodward

This is a story about a black and white couple that started their relationship at a very young age.  Rosie was four and Sonny was five and for the last time their parents told them not to play together anymore.  So they stayed locked up in the house for one whole year and they both thought they'd never see each other again.

But after that year, it was time for them to start school and learn what they could of the golden rule.  They had both been to church and Sunday school and had already learned to be kind to one another and they couldn't understand why their friendship would bother their fathers and mothers.

For it would be school that would bring them back together and for years they'd be friends under their parents radar, in fact it was Sonny who drove Rosie to the prom in his brand new car.  After meeting her one mile away from where their parents would see them, they felt safe.

And as the last months went by, they both got their diplomas. Sonny was the first to become a new owner.  So it was really a surprised when he came back to visit his parents with his new wife  and Sonny Jr. His parent's eyes looked of shock to see Rosie with Sonny as they backed up, bowled down and decided to surrender.
